This was purchased from a local gentleman who bought it at an estate sale some years back from a very well-known local collection. This Mach was sold new at Bird Ford of Kerhonkson, NY, and was sold to the original owner on July 1st, 1970. The Mach 1 is finished in meadowlark yellow, which, under certain lighting, can even appear white. This is a factory S code vehicle with a 390 cid 4V 8-cylinder engine, linked to a SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic and a 3.25 rear end. This car was ordered from the factory with all the good options, such as power steering, power disc brakes, and an AM radio. This vehicle has undergone a previous restoration; the craft and quality are evident upon inspection. All panel alignment is excellent and uniform throughout, and the paint is spotless and slick, with no blemishes visible anywhere. Included with the sale of this vehicle will be all Matri documentation, including a reproduction build sheet, door tag, and two additional forms showing the number of cars built similarly. This vehicle is a pleasure to drive, tracking down the road straight, braking perfectly, and delivering plenty of power from that 390 V8. On the interior, which was refinished during the restoration, you will notice the clean black knit vinyl bucket seats, the sport deck rear seats, the factory-new-looking replacement carpets, and the famous rim blow deluxe steering wheel, which is still functional today.
