Another beautiful Basil Classic... this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro showing 88,114 miles has been handpicked and meets Joe Basil's standards of excellence and tradition of fine automobiles since 1951. Presented here is an outstanding example of a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Finished is Garnet Red with white stripes. This timeless, high-impact color combination remains one of the most sought-after among first-generation Camaros. The Z/28 option, designed initially to homologate the Camaro for SCCA Trans-Am racing, included a host of performance upgrades, making these cars legends in their own right. Under the hood lies a correctly rebuilt 302ci V8 engine, a high-winding small-block powerhouse rated at 290 horsepower (though widely known to produce significantly more). The engine starts easily, revs freely, and delivers the signature mechanical snarl unique to the Z/28. Power is routed through a 4-speed transmission, delivering crisp, engaging shifts.
All the correct Z/28 badging is in place—on the grille, fenders, decklid, and interior—while the surrounding chrome bumpers, window trim, door handles, and stainless accents are in excellent condition, showing bright, clean finishes with no signs of pitting or age. The body panels are straight, the gaps are consistent, and the doors shut with confidence—everything you'd expect from a well-preserved and correctly restored muscle car. Inside, the interior presents exceptionally well, with reupholstered white vinyl bucket seats, matching white door panels, and clean black loop carpeting throughout. The black dash pad is in excellent shape with no cracking or warping, and the original gauge cluster remains intact and functional, sitting behind the correct 3-spoke wood-grain steering wheel. This car underwent a frame-off nut-and-bolt restoration about 13 years ago, making it factory-correct, including the paint, equipment, and smog components. Nothing was untouched on this car. From every angle, this '69 Z/28 is a standout. It's not only visually striking, but mechanically sound and correct in all the essential places. Whether you're a seasoned collector looking for a Z/28 or an enthusiast searching for a turn-key piece of American muscle history, this Camaro delivers. It's ready to be shown, driven, and admired wherever it goes.
