The Basil family is very pleased to present this 1954 Buick Special for sale. Currently a work in progress, we purchased this car from a local gentleman who had too many projects on his plate and needed one gone to complete the rest. This Buick was completely torn down and has since begun being put back together to its current state, offering the next owner a fantastic head start on a truly unique build. The original chassis was swapped for an Art Morrison chassis, engineered to accommodate the car's new powertrain: a Mast Performance 6.2L LS3 V8, paired with a 4-speed 4L65E automatic transmission. Drilled-and-slotted front disc brakes have also been added, giving this Buick modern stopping power to match its newfound performance underneath. The exterior of the car is essentially finished, with all bodywork completed and the car painted in a rich Rootbeer Brown, topped with a contrasting Pearl roof. The car currently runs and drives, thanks to a new fuel pump we installed during our work on the project. We have the majority of the parts needed to complete this build, including a full interior that will require reupholstering. Our in-house restoration shop is prepared to fully restore this car to completion — unless it finds a new home with an owner eager to finish the build themselves first.
