Another beautiful Basil Classic... this 1963 Buick LeSabre showing 87,416 miles has been handpicked and meets Joe Basil's standards of excellence and tradition of fine automobiles since 1951.
This 1963 Buick LeSabre is a genuinely unique piece of Buick history, previously restored years ago and finished in a striking custom Volcano Red with a contrasting white painted top. This bold color combination gives this LeSabre real presence on the road. Under the hood is Buick's robust 401 cubic-inch "Nailhead" V8, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission — an unusual and desirable combination for a full-size Buick of this era, giving the car a sportier, more engaging character than the typical LeSabre buyer would have experienced. This particular car carries a fascinating and well-documented history. While no official production numbers exist for this configuration, it's believed that very few examples were built this way. According to the car's history, the original owner purchased it around the time dual-quad carburetion was introduced and, before even taking delivery, had the selling dealer install dual-quad carburetors — a rare and special factory-adjacent modification for the era. While those original dual quads are no longer on the car today, the story behind them remains a wonderful piece of provenance, and the car has since been the subject of several articles in muscle car magazines, further cementing its unique place in Buick enthusiast circles. With its custom color combination, rare 4-speed manual setup, and genuinely cool documented history, this LeSabre is a fantastic driver-quality classic with a story to match its unique specifications.
